Tips to presuade my parents to not ground me…?

Okay, I go to a high school where we also take college classes. I have always made A’s and B’s in my college classes, but the last I am taking right now, I am not doing so hot in. I am a D in it right now, and I am trying my hardest in that class, but it is so hard. I was making a B, but i bombed my last test, which I studied for. So, it brought me down to a D. Report cards are coming out in a couple of weeks, and I am making A’s and B’s in my high school honor classes. I have always made good grades but that D will be on my report card. We are only halfway through the Spring semester in our colleges classes, so that D isn’t my final grade. My teachers are helping me out with the class, and I am trying extra harder in that class. How can I persuade my parents to not ground me? Again, the D isn’t my final grade yet, and I am trying extra harder then usual to pass this class.
@Darklady: So, like if I went ahead and told them that I am making a D in my college class ahead of time instead of the day I got my report card, that they wouldn’t be as angry since I was honest and that I am trying my hardest in that class?

How to get my parents to let me sleep over at my boyfriends house?

I am 15 (A mature 15, I might add) and my boyfriend is 16. Tomorrow is New Years eve and I want to spend the night at his house. His parents are fine with it and would be willing to speak to my dad on the phone and such, to reassure him that we will be supervised and what not. What I need are some tips or ways to help my dad say yes? I don’t want to lie, but I will if necessary. Please help, asap.

My parents always roll their eyes and voice their opinions when they hear one of my friends has a boyfriend. They like to tell me quite often that i am TOO YOUMG and school is much more important. I’m not sure how a boyfriend will mess up my school life becasue A) I’m extremely smart. I get straight A’s naturally and i hardly study. So it’s not like a boyfriend will mess up my Study Patterns. B) i have a job. I’ve been able to balance a job and school NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. I really dont understand their reasoning behind this. My father is very stubborn and hardly lets me have my say in anything that he doesn’t agree on. He drowns out my voice or just keeps inturrupting me. So i’m not sure how to tell them i think i’m mature enough to have a boyfriend. By the way, i’m 16 and in grade 11. I can drive also. So it’s not like i’m some little grade 8er saying MY PARENTS WONT LET ME HAVE A BOYFRIEND. Yes i agree 8th grade is too young. But 16!? SERIOUSLY?

What should i do?
Oh and also. I really like this guy and all my friends have been asking him about me and he said he thinks i’m really cute smart and nice, but i’m not allowed to date.

HE WONT DATE ME BEHIND MY PARENTS BACK. so now i want to tell them but they’re so scary and i’m SUCH a woos.

Any tips for a single parent with a broken leg?

I’m 24 years old and a single parent to my 2 year old daughter. We live in a flat by ourselves and her mother isn’t in the picture at the moment.
I broke my leg yesterday, it was my own fault. I was acting like a tosser with my mates and I accidentally fell down a flight of stairs. I’m fine other than my broken leg and a few bruises.
The break isn’t bad, I don’t need a wheel chair or anything. I just have a cast and a crutch.

The thing is I can’t really run around after my daughter anymore. I used to chase her around the house while we were playing and stuff like that. And if she ran somewhere dangerous (like towards a road) I could catch her really quickly. Now it won’t be as easy.
It’s a bit of a pain this broken leg (excuse the pun), I can’t really do stuff now.

Any help would be great cheers

I have a full time job, I work 37.5 hours a week as a mental health nurse. My parent’s or my friend Lucy usually look after my daughter while I’m at work.
I’ve been given time off due to my leg.

Any tips to overcome controlling parents?

Now, some background here. I’m not a teenager, I am in my upper twenties but I seem to be unable to let go of their controlling. I have limited my step-mom’s viewing on my FB page so she can no longer comment biblical type things on my wall.

I’m not religious. One thing my dad or step-mom are trying to change. They are glued to anything involving health. They are hypochondriacs and I am just tired of seeing and talking to them. Luckily I live an hour away and have no ties to them anymore.

They refuse to meet my boyfriend. We’ve been together nearly a year and living with each other for 5 months. We’re going very strong – I’ve met his family and they’ve taken me in as one of their own. I talk to his mom on a daily basis and sometimes have lunch together to catch up. My parents think that my boyfriend is very critical and controlling. How would they know anything without meeting him in the first place? I’ve asked them this question, and they said it’s all about my body language. I haven’t sent any bad/mixed signals but I have learned if I don’t want to talk about a specific topic, I veer away from it.

They are very intrusive. When I moved back home several years ago, they tried to help me with a budget and from that point on, they asked to see bank/credit card statements. Asked why I spent x amount of money at this/that place and did I really need it. They still ask me. And I refuse.

About the health thing. She has Hypoglycemia* and my dad claims he does but he hasn’t been to a doctor for it. Yet both accuse me of having the condition. So last month when my younger sister and her boyfriend visited, we went out to eat and I ordered soda with my meal. My parents loudly disagreed and said that with my medical condition I should know better than to order that, and that I should have ordered water, like them. I was embarrassed. I wanted to escape but realized we drove together so I had no way out. I have been to a doctor and tested for the condition – it was negative but I am anemic. The doctor said I can have anything I want – in moderation, to gain weight.

I am of a thin build, always been slightly underweight my entire life – very difficult to gain as I have a high metabolism but only recently it has slowed down enough for me to gain – so now I’m nearing my target weight and they like to accuse me of being pregnant (not in a teasing way, but more of a concerned/criticizing tone).

There is much more to the story, but that’s the summary. Basically, what I would like to find out is how to just ignore the hurtful things they say. I have tried many times to tell them how much the comments/questions hurt my feelings and that they cannot simply let go and let me live my own life.

They act like I’m an alcoholic and need an intervention. Side note, I hate drinking (not a fan of the taste or feeling like I’m not in control, I don’t smoke or use drugs. I’m a frugal spender – I’d rather stay home than go out.

I wish they would just let it go. They had their chance to “fix me” years ago and just let me live.

I live away from them.. thankfully! I’ve lived away for several years – but it’s always the same when I return for a visit or whatever. They like to bring up the past (my younger sister has her Masters Degree and I have yet to attend college but served time in the USAF – they take enjoyment in comparing us and have told me that they favor my sister over me).

It’s a bit comical from a 3rd party point of view, but very difficult dealing with it personally. Debating cutting them off altogether.

How can I convince my parents to let me get snakebites?

I have a choice to wait until I am sixteen until I can get my piercing and not need permission from my parents, but I really want it now. My parents are all concerned with what is normal and probably would freak out if I wanted a lip piercing. So any tips to convince them to let my get snakebites?
