I have been a victim of verbal abuse from my parents since before I can begin to remember. This abuse managed to kill my self esteem over the years. I am now a young adult, and I am battling self esteem issues. I know that I have to learn to love myself before I can love anyone else. PLEASE HELP!!!??

Reverse their unkind words by telling yourself good things about you. First of all, realize that it would be a total waste of your time to think bad things of yourself. Focus on your positive traits, like your lovely eyes, your great smile, your awesome sense of humor and your smarts! When you catch yourself getting down, this is when you should do this the most. But do it all the time anyways!!
One more thing, exercise is a great way to let off some steam and your feel really great inside and out.
Good luck, you are beautiful!!
